Yuko Otacast Show 2: Shop 99
May 5th, 2008 — ukotakuDownload Now! (or scroll down for streaming)
This show we discussed the infamous Shop 99, Japanese movies, music, games, anime and food. Plus we had an exclusive con report by Emily direct from the Collectomania Convention. We even managed to bag ourselves a super special celebrity guest (honest!) We also played some music and chatted about life, the universe, paint in vaginas and everything.
We recorded this weeks show at the CME offices, and I promised a link so here we go: http://www.cme.org.uk/
Music Credits
Tune 1: Insist - Peace
Tune 2: Ammuff - Time Travel
Tune 3: 4 in the Moonlight - Kaipirinya No Moto E (I got song name and artist the wrong way round during the show, sorry guys!)

It sounds like Jade has some pretty amazing stories. There ought to be a section of each Otacast devoted to Jade’s crazy story of the past two weeks or something. The fry/pedophile mix-up, hysterical. And the interesting, ah, painting technique, truly priceless (certainly the most unique paint brush I’ve ever heard tell used).
I have a question. How do you guys have access to anime? Do you download it or buy it? If you download it, what site do you use? Are there full series of anything on youtube or anything?

Hey! Thanks for your feeback! Jade is pleased you enjoy her rambling, I think we will have to work on a jingle for “Jades Crazy Whacky Story Time” or something.
So you wants anime, ne? Well obviously I can not condone the downloading or distributing of copyrighted material, I can however point you toward the thriving fan sub scene. Torrent sites such as http://www.animesuki.com/ provide unlicensed anime for download. Please bear in mind that once these series / movies get licensed by a western distributor torrent links will be removed.
You will need a torrent client like uTorrent to download files from torrent sites. There are other sites to choose from but animesuki is the best place to start, check out the community there for more advice on fansubs.
There is not really anywhere to watch good quality fansubs online since Stage6 got shut down *cry* you probably can find stuff on YouTube but the quality will be awful. Fansub torrents are your best bet.
NOTE TO ALL DOWNLOADERS: Please make sure you support the anime scene in some way, the big anime distributors appear to be in financial difficulty right now, probably as a result of internet piracy, so if you want to keep seeing domestic anime releases make sure you support these companies!
